Our afternoon punting was delayed – disaster! We found ourselves chilling out (both figuratively and literally) at the sugar stop that’s known as Fitzbillies. Cambridge was a scorcher on our day out here, and it was a nice hanging out spot even if only for the aircon. The baked items in the cabinet looked delightful but we were still full from lunch. So just a sundae for us. Note the dining menu at Fitzbillies finishes up in the early afternoon, so that wasn’t an option either. I liked the sundae but not the macaron. The airy biscuit wasn’t fresh, or light, or tasty. The ice-cream is ordered in and was good, creamy and sweet. So we stuck to that and the berry topping, which was also tasty. Re-reading a few reviews, I should have sampled the Chelsea buns, but I guess that’s for next time!
