Pho & Bun was one of my MealPal lunches for the week and I was really happy with this pork bao. But on the other hand, I thought it wasn’t enough for a meal, especially with no other side dish accompanying. The BBQ honey pork belly is served with a secret soy sauce, apple, pickle cucumber and chilli mayonnaise. The bao is fluffy like a cloud, and there’s even a pretty inscription printed on the top. And the grilled pork belly pieces were absolutely tasty, the sweet, tantalising glaze contrasting with the creamy mayo. Lettuce was a little messy, as you can tell and I thought the slice of apple was a little out of place. Perhaps shreds in the lettuce mix would have been better in my mind. At £7.50 it’s best eaten alongside another menu choice, but I’d be keen to sample a full size meal at Pho & Bun on the next journey.
