The Abokado chain of cafes originally started when the owners visited down under and experienced the wealth of cheap, exciting sushi, juice and noodle bars and thought it was needed in London too. It’s certainly true there is still some shortage of the diversity of cuisine choices that I’m used to back home (and other home). I popped into the Westminster branch (or should that be one of the Westminster branches) to catch a late night 20% closing sale.
I grabbed an inari noodle salad and an egg salad. It came under £5 and was fairly alright for the price. The boiled egg salad had a nice, creamy dressing and was otherwise basic with some spinach leaves. The inari was tasty but overly sweet and the vermicelli it was on was weird, chewy. Not the texture I was hoping for. The choose-your-own dressing and seperate shallot container is neat and it’s a meal you can feel good about.
