Nothing beats a bowl of warm tonkotsu ramen on a cold evening. And so far, every London evening is cold. We headed along to the Shoryu Ramen in Kingly Court, which is a really fab space in itself. I went for the White Natural (£11.50) which was one of their recommendations and is a tonyu soy milk, miso, konbu and shiitake broth topped with fried tofu, kikurage mushrooms, spring onion, bamboo shoots and nori. The broth was fair, and the noodles were yum, there was a nice saltiness to the noodle. Tofu was a bit boring and was cold to the bite which wasn’t as pleasant. A bit pricey for the end result, doesn’t capture the energy or aromas of Hakata back home.
