The Angel branch of The Breakfast Club was the second to open for the chain back in 2007. The name of the game here is American-styled meals that are massive on the portions, and as massive on the calorie count. Rob, Anne and I headed along to check out their fare for our Sunday brunch affair, with only a mini-queue in order. I had the All American (£11.40), which features pancakes, eggs, sausage, potatoes, bacon and maple syrup. This is such a heavy plate with oil dripping off the potatoes. I wasn’t thrilled with the pancakes, which were chewy instead of light and fluffy. The bacon didn’t quite do it for me either. The sausage, potatoes and egg was good, and Anne was a fan of her smashed avo with chorizo. Service at The Breakfast Club was fantastic and the cosy ambience is a perfect one for a chilly morning, so I’ll still be well inclined to check it out again.
