Always ready for a burger experience, on this lunching occasion I headed over to San Jose, down a bit on Clarendon Street of South Melbourne. They do fast and filling burgers and I went for the chicken version, known as the Lexa. Slightly American-styled, it came with a satisfying slice of plastic cheese, slaw, special sauce and more slaw. The brioche bun had a rich buttery taste as it should be. The meat was tender and crisp but had a slightly over-fried sense that left a bit of a greasy aftertaste.
The fries also felt slightly American and you get a lot with your order as well – these are pretty good and remind me of a McDonalds type fry. A decent stop for a lunchtime chill and it’s a guilty little pleasure.
