How strange. Sushi Burger is now closed, but is being reopened as Mr Sushi Burger. Not sure if that means they are actually closing of if it’s some clever tax avoidance scheme. Anyway, I jumped on the sushi burger train and gave it a go on this cloudy evening. Concept is a literal as it sounds, fillings in-between two rice balls. I had walked past after a few drinks and was keen to check it out at some point, if not only to knock off one more gimmick menu item off my list.
Service is very friendly, food was fair but the concept didn’t really do anything for me. I had the Chicken Aburi which had an inside of lightly flamed-seared slice chicken, teriyaki sauce, tartare sauce and lettuce. At $6 it’s not to bad but you definitely need two to fill you up and even then ratios are a little whack. The fillings themselves are all good and I’d reckon the other menu items would be worthwhile to give a go. In any case not too much wallet-stretching to try this one off too.
