In an area without a lot of dumpling-orientated options, Three Little Dumplings comes to the rescue with a recent opening on busy Clarendon Street, South Melbourne. Kathleen and I, being of an Asian-cuisine consuming disposition, were keen to check out how it compared so we could have one more option on our lunching list. In the end, Three Little Dumplings does a fairly competent job, with some dumpling lunch delights that do merit the occasional repeat visit.
I went with the boiled pork dumplings noodle soup for $9.50, a very reasonable price point for a six count bowl of dumplings and noodles in broth. The soup could have had a bit more depth of complexity but otherwise was fine as an accompaniment to the real focus of the dumplings. Decent fillings and the pastry was thick and satisfying. A meaty fill for our appetites and no negative aftertaste. Some token veges and a steal for the price.
