A quirky set up hidden away in one of Melbourne’s city laneways. My date chose the location for this night and I quite liked the setup, but the food was a bit more on the average side. So was the date, coincidentally. The venue itself consists of a kitchen/ truck at the back with bar tables and stools. Not the most cosy on this evening, the birds are a bit too rampant for my liking but would be nice on a Summer’s Day. Mainly didn’t want shits on my plate, who would disagree?
For eating purposes I went with the pulled pork roll that had slow cooked spicy pork, topped with walnut, fennel, apple, cabbage slaw and cheese. Alright for a sandwich and wasn’t too messy. The pork had a good sweetness that carried along from the slaw but probably could have done with a bit more spice. In fact, my whole even could have done with a bit more spice. Sigh. Good cocktails and drinks options, would recommend checking it our for a low key thirst spot for a difference.
