The vegetarian-Mexican mixes of Trippy Taco have saved me on many an occasion, no less after one disastrous dinner attempt over at the heavily overpriced foil that is Transformer. Over at Trippy Taco it’s great value, quick outputs and service was a smile and that’s all good stuff. Getting a table can be tough at busy times, but I think it’s mostly worth the wait.
I prefer the burrito options here, the mixes comes with components including tofu, beans, salsa, cheese salad and plenty of other good stuff. I most enjoyed the bean and cheese burrito ($10.50) which keeps things simple with mozzarella, black beans and salsa. The flavours are all there, but can be a bit more muddled in some of the permutations and of course, passes of me misses the meat part. I’ve had the sweet corn tamale which I prefer in the non-meal format, the salad that came with was a bit blah and wasn’t quite worthy of a main. For a vegetarian or vegan audience, Trippy Taco delivers a quick, economical and hip fix that’s worth checking out.
