It’s the place known for having two dollar sushi hand rolls in a super central location. Note: that in New Zealand and much of the rest of the developed world, we’re more used to having sushi slices. Here they’re happy to cut them up for you, the way you like. The quality is fair at Tokui Sushi for what you pay and it remains markedly better than the generic rolls you get at the chain sushi stores.
I rather like the tamago rolls here, the ratio to rice is quite pleasing as well as the karage chicken, which peeks out of the roll oh so pleasantly. If the two dollar price tag wasn’t good enough, it goes down to two rolls for $3 towards end of day. I think I’d be awesome at being on a student budget again.
