There’s a few Italian options around the area and prior to another challenging evening of tabletop gaming we decided to go for an inspired bite. Via Fratelli offers great Italian in a warm, comfy atmosphere and the food kept us pretty happy. I ordered the Fettucini Fratelli which was a chicken tossed in a creamy basil pesto with sun-dried tomatoes. It was a tasty, indeed creamy sauce and the pasta was fresh but possibly could have done with a bit more on the meat front.
I was able to sneak in a slice of the table’s pizza and I quite enjoyed that too. Their order was the Salsiccia which featured Napoli, Mozzarella, Italian Sausage, porcini mushroom and bocconcini. It was a satisfying permutation of some of my favourite flavour profiles and everything tasted proper and fresh.
Via Fratelli was a enjoyable little evening with authentic and tasty Italian cuisine in a family feel-type environment. It took me back to when I was in Italy and the kinds of food I was eating there.
