Whilst the hot options at this sushi stop are a bit basic, the cabinet-housed hand rolls are great quality if not very slightly pricey. Specifically their vegetarian reverse roll option is one of the best vegetarian sushi I’ve had. It has a mix of all the great vegetarian items you get including aburraage (tofu), seaweed salad, mayo, carrot, avocado and cucumber. Finally it’s all rolled in a crispy, flaky mystery leaf-based substance. I have come to conclude that it’s a type of processed seaweed used in Japanese garnishes and now have found myself with a bag of it in my pantry to enjoy too.
Two to three hand rolls makes for a good, clean lunch and I’d definitely recommended you include a few of the deluxe reverse rolls in the mix as well. I recall having the chicken and tamago rolls but those were a bit more standard issue and unfortunately the range isn’t quite as extensive as other joints.
